Beginner Level Skills

For students with beginner level skills I would suggest dividing the activities’ in half and having two lessons per song, this will effectively give you 60 lessons:

Activity	Timing	Additional Notes
Lesson 1
What’s That Word – Text Completion Activity	15 – 20 minutes	Play the song 4-5 times. Keep an eye on the students pages, once most of them have filled in the majority of the gaps it is time to move on to the answers.
Lyrics and Sense – Vocabulary Activity	10 – 15 minutes	Beginner Level students will probably find many of the words unfamiliar, so ask them questions to illicit extra words that need clarification in addition to the ones on the handout. Make sure you don’t spend more than 15 minutes on vocabulary.
In My Opinion – Discussion Activity	10 – 15 minutes	Just use the questions related to the lyrics.
Sing-A-Long With Me	5 minutes
On My Own – Homework Activity 1	15 – 20 minutes	These activities are only available when you purchase the full version of the unit. A sample version of the full first lesson can be found here.
Lesson 2
Between The Lines – Listening Comprehension Quiz	10 – 15 minutes	Play the song 3 times
The Story Behind The Song – Reading Activity	10 – 15 minutes	Check for understanding as you read and explain any vocabulary the students are unfamiliar with.
In My Opinion – Discussion Activity	10 – 15 minutes	Use the questions that relate to the reading activity.
Sing-A-Long With Me	5 minutes
