In My Opinion – Discussion Time

1.       Hand out the discussion questions.
2.      There are a number of ways you can facilitate the discussion
      time:
                                       i.      Arrange the students in pairs or three’s, give them five-ish minutes to discuss the questions, and then rotate students to new groups and discuss again for another five-ish minutes. Finish by brining all the groups together and comparing the answers different groups had for some of the questions. You probably won’t have time to cover all of the questions. With this method the teacher floats and joins different groups
ii.      The same as the first method but you don’t bring all the groups together at the end, you have a third rotation instead.
                                    iii.      Open group discussion.

Each method has pro’s and cons’. Choose the best method for your class.
